May 2008: Letterkenny Town Council 4th Municipality in Ireland to Receive European Energy Award®: The eea Award was presented to the Mayor of Letterkenny Town Council at an official awarding ceremony that took place on the 12th May 2008. Letterkenny Town Council were successfully audited in December 2007 and became the 4th municipality in Ireland to reach the standards required to attain the award.

April 2008: The eea website has been updated to reflect recent changes. The domain has changed to http://www.eea-ireland.net

January 2008: Select Energy Solutions based in Fermoy, County Cork, has taken over the role of National Coordinator / license holder for the eea Programme in Ireland. Andrew Shepherd of Select Energy Solutions has been involved with the programme since its role out under the EU funded project "EURENA" and was one of the first accredited eea Advisors in Ireland.

December 2007: Galway City Council were officially awarded eea status at an awarding ceremony that took place at Galway City Hall.

June 2006: Letterkenny City Council joins the eea Programme.

April 2006: Galway City Council joins the eea Programme.

May 2006: Nenagh Town Council were officially awarded eea status at an awarding ceremony that took place at the Tipperary North Civic Offices. Nenagh Town Council are one of the first communities in Ireland to achieve eea status.

May 2006: Macroom Town Council were officially awarded eea status at an awarding ceremony that took place at Macroom Town Hall. Macroom Town Council are one of the first communities in Ireland to achieve eea status.
